Old Mrs Ling

Old Mrs Ling is a board game inspired by the emotion of "sadness". It is a memory game where you have to work with other players to find Old Mrs Ling's lost child - who she gave up in the war 50 years ago - before it's too late.

designed the gameplay to be balanced and the aesthetics to be diagetic with the gameplay
physically put together all the board game elements

Software used: Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI

The cards were designed with a dark theme and minimalistic, with both English and Mandarin descriptions to invoke a deeper diagetic tone of the game.

On the left is the original rendition of the child illustration. I changed it to a painterly style for a more nostalgic, calm feeling.
