inspired by the song "colors" by halsey, this piece was drawn with the intention of juxtaposing happy warm colors with a more profound, lost emotion.

a redraw of a character I first designed in 2012, she is meant to be the epitome of regality. I explored with the color scheme as purple is traditionally the color of royalty, but I wanted to have some pops of color with pink and gold to balance the tranquility of the blues and her resting expression.

inspired by a gorgeous song written by a peer titled "pink" - it was a melancholic tune in a minor key, with visual elements of pink items (cherry blossoms, strawberries and roses) that would make one think it a happy song just by reading the lyrics, but in reality was full of introspection and a want to grow.

referenced off of a friend who modeled for me, this illustration is meant to capture a strong hijabi woman with a sense of national pride. it was also an experiment with primary colors and how they could be married in a harmonious manner.

two characters i designed based off of some drinks i like. matcha milk reminds me of calm libraries and productive study days, whereas peach tea is the outgoing summer vibe who is both young at heart and in mind.

based on the song "Yellow" from Crazy Rich Asians. one of the lines loosely translates to "the flowers of the night scatter behind you, making me very happy" and I took that line and interpreted the flowers as fireworks. this piece is meant to convey a character who is excited for the future, grateful for the present, as he looks back on the past.

a doodle that i turned into a more complete drawing, the three elements aren't inherently meant to be link, but the combination of the limited colors and the disparity of the three makes for an interesting fellow with a paranormal background.

to illustrate how much i adore space and the wonders of it, I designed a character with a sense of childlike wonder who wants to learn more about the cosmos. this is to convey his curiosity and how that comes in the form of a little fairy friend.
